A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT SUE PARKIN

President Sue ParkinThe Rotary Club of Wakefield and myself are calling upon professional and business men and women of Wakefield to consider becoming Rotarians.

Our weekly meetings, varying in format from business meetings to speaker evenings or musical evenings, are held at The New Brookhouse Club on Barnsley Road, opposite the Aagrah Restaurant.

The menu on this web-site offers you a chance to take a glimpse of all the activities and events which we organise and in which we take part. An example is the Wakefield Arts Festival which we began two years ago. This will start again in March 2010 and run to July, where there will be a number of concerts and productions and also an Art Exhibition. All the money which we raise will be for local and national and international charities, as well as enabling us to support youth and community projects in Wakefield.

All Rotary Clubs are part of Rotary International which is the world's largest service organisation. Our Rotary Club organises events and activities which address the particular needs of Wakefield. We have several committees which organise their own events as well as supporting whole club projects.

If you are a Rotarian visiting Wakefield on a Thursday evening please come along and see us. If you are thinking of becoming a Rotarian, please contact us by e-mail through this web-site and leave us your phone number. We will get in touch as soon as we can.

Yours in Rotary,

President Sue
