Rotary Convention 2009 in Birmingham             R.I. Convention 2009


 
Message from the Club Web Manager: In order to obtain information about the convention from R.I. or R.I.B.I. it is necessary to register a password on-line in a process which takes at least one day. For the convenience of other members I am therefore repeating below the information I have obtained in this way. Registration is normally on-line but there is a facility for Rotarians to be registered as a guest of another Rotarian. This will be useful for those without Internet access.

The basic cost of Registration for the Convention is US$280. Special meals and entertainment are extra. See below

 

"Indicated below is the schedule for preconvention meetings and RI ticketed events. Preconvention meetings and RI event tickets are available to convention registrants only - all those attending RI ticketed-events and preconvention meetings must be registered for the convention.

Preconvention Meetings
Preconvention meetings are available to convention registrants only - all those attending RI pre-convention meetings must be registered for the convention. You may register for one preconvention meeting.

International Institute: The International Institute will take place from 19-20 June 2009. The meeting is open to incoming, current or past RI officers and their immediate family members only. An additional fee of US$200 per Rotarian/Guest will be added to your convention registration fee. You must be registered for the convention to attend the International Institute.

World Peace Symposium: The World Peace Symposium will take place from 18-19 June 2009. The World Peace Symposium is open to all Rotary World Peace Fellows and registration includes admission to the symposium, the Rotary Alumni Celebration, the symposium dinner, the symposium lunches and alumni registration for the RI Convention. An additional fee of US$200 per Rotarian/Guest will be added to your convention registration fee. You must be registered for the convention to attend the World Peace Symposium.
Note: Online registration for this event is available for Rotarians only. Rotary World Peace Fellows and Alumni will receive an invitation and separate registration form via e-mail and should fax it to +1-847-866-3064.

Rotaract Meeting: The Rotaract Meeting will take place from 18-20 June 2009. The meeting is open to all convention registrants and is included in the convention registration fee.

Youth Exchange Officers Meeting: The Youth Exchange Officers (YEO) Meeting will take place from 18-20 June 2009. The meeting is open to all convention registrants and is included in the convention registration fee.

Rotary Alumni Celebration: The Rotary Alumni Celebration meeting will take place on 20 June 2009 and is designated for all Rotary Foundation program alumni and their guests.

NOTE: Remember to include the preconvention meeting dates when reserving your hotel room.

RI Ticketed Events
RI ticketed events are available to convention registrants only - all attendees of RI ticketed events must be registered for the convention. Tickets to RI events are sold on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to availability. Due to limited quantities, advance purchase is recommended. RI ticketed events require payment in full with registration fees. Any RI ticketed events that are not paid in full with the convention registration fees will be canceled. Ticket sales are limited to the number of registrants per registration ID.

Rotary World Peace Symposium Luncheon, 18 June 2009 (US$60) - Open to all World Peace Symposium participants and their guests.
Rotary World Peace Symposium Dinner, 18 June 2009 (US$90) - Open to all World Peace Symposium and International Institute participants and their guests.
International Institute Luncheon, 19 June 2009 (US$45) - Open to all registered International Institute participants and their guests under the same registration ID.
Rotary World Peace Symposium Luncheon, 19 June 2009 (US$60) - Open to all World Peace Symposium participants and their guests.
International Institute Dinner, 19 June 2009 (US$90) - Open to all registered International Institute participants and their guests under the same registration ID.
Youth Exchange Officers Banquet, 19 June 2009 (US$95) - Open to all Youth Exchange Officers Meeting participants. You must be registered for the Youth Exchange Officers Meeting to attend this event.
Rotary Alumni Celebration, 20 June 2009 (US$25) - Open to all Rotary Foundation program alumni and their guests under the same registration ID.

Paul Harris Fellows "Tea" Luncheon, 21 June 2009 (US$25) - Designed to thank friends and supporters for the Rotary Foundation, but open to all convention registrants.
President's Recognition Luncheon, 22 June 2009 (US$60) - Designed for past RI officers, district governors, club presidents, RI committee members and spouses, but open to all convention registrants.
President-elect's Leadership Luncheon, 23 June 2009 (US$60) - Designed for current RI officers, district governors, club presidents, RI committee members and spouses, but open to all convention registrants.
On To Montreal Luncheon, 24 June 2009 (US$60) - Designed for incoming RI officers, district governors, club presidents, RI committee members and spouses, but open to all convention registrants. "

Convention ticketed events bookable via the R.I.B.I. site.

Unlike R.I. ticketed events there is not a requirement stated on the website for attendees to be registered for the Convention. However the District Co-ordinator for the Convention advises by e-mail that the same requirement applies.
