Emotional Support for Children And Young People

We offer a Counselling and Therapeutic Play service free to the children and young people in West Yorkshire between the ages of three and twenty one years of age.


We aim to provide a ‘fast track' service with the intention of offering an appointment with a counsellor within two weeks of receipt of a completed referral form.


An Ice breaker visit in the form of a first visit gives the child or young person a chance to meet us and look around the premises. There will also be the opportunity to answer any questions and give the relevant information.


Our counsellors work with all issues including: sexual/physical abuse, bereavement, bullying, disruptive/difficult behaviours, low self esteem and confidence and self harm etc. The counsellors of ESCAYP will refer children and young people to other appropriate agencies if it is felt that this will better meet their needs.


ESCAYP accepts all children and young people living in West Yorkshire aged between three and twenty one years of age and not currently undergoing any other form of psychological therapy.


ESCAYP is available for children and young people offering a supportive empathic environment in which they feel secure and safe, therefore enabling them to explore their issues.
